Home With a Cold

When the cold and flu hit we take comfort in books, blankets, and biscuits. This holiday finds me sick with a nasty cold and books are a welcome distraction. This week I am reading Book 1 of The Guardians trilogy, by William Joyce. The writing is snappy, the illustrations are detailed, and the mix of childhood characters like Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny are both familiar and a stretch into the fantastical. I am told the books fit into a time spot 200 years  before the movie. Am I right ?
I am first on the reader list, with four other students penciled on a post-it note safely fastened on the inside cover of the book.

Please pass the kleenex.
What did you read today?
